Term 2, Week 8 2024
Principal Update
Werte Bradshaw Primary School,
Happy long weekend. If you are heading out to camp for Finke, we wish you a lovely time and that it doesn’t get too cold. If you are staying closer to home, we hope it is relaxing and that you enjoy time with friends and family.
We have two more weeks before breaking for 3 weeks holiday. We have done a lot this term. Of course, teachers and students have been busy at it in class with their learning. Our small group reading support programs have been highly effective with a number of students bridging the gap and are now ready to come out of the program having fully caught up with their peers. This is something students, staff and family should be immensely proud of. We have also run our swimming program in our younger years and a lot of students took part in Eisteddfod performances with the support of teachers and staff. This term we also had our Year 6 camp.
Next term will be just as busy with year 4 and 5 camps and Bradshaw Celebrating its 50th Birthday with a special event. Look out for more details.
Please enjoy your long weekend and we look forward to seeing all the students back on Tuesday.

Interschool Athletics
Sports day started off a frosty morning but that didn't slow our athletes down. They warmed up and got ready to tackle their events, from long jump and javelin to shot put, discus, and running. We're beaming with pride for our students who gave it their all, but what truly shone through was the amazing teamwork and support they showed each other throughout the day. So proud to be a part of this incredible team. Congratulations Zayne, George & Marshall for being awarded Champions of their Age Group.

Bradshaw Performances at Eisteddfod
The Centralian Eisteddfod is the perfect platform to showcase the incredible talents of our students. The Araluen Arts Theatre came to life with an array of outstanding performances. Check out our awesome superstars that performed.

Fun times and learning with 6M
The Year 6 students had an unforgettable adventure at Hamilton Downs Youth Camp. They immersed themselves in nature with hikes and exploring the stunning landscapes. Days were filled with laughter and excitement as they engaged in various games, activities, painting and laughing. Mealtimes were a delight, with everyone enjoying delicious, hearty food cooked by the legendary Amy Nunez. Evenings around the campfire were magical, where stories were shared, and spirited quizzes brought out everyone’s competitive side. Gathered around the campfire at night, students enjoyed the warmth while toasting marshmallows and eating smores. A memorable time was had by all!

Making a Splash with Transition Twine
Last week Transition Twine attended swimming lessons. The students had a great time learning swimming skills including safe entry to the pool, floating and kicking. Thank you to the team at Alice Springs Aquatic Centre for running the AUSTWIM program for us to learn and enjoy.
