ASTC School Holiday fun!
Message from the Principal
What a fantastic way to end the term! This last fortnight has been a true celebration of learning, and I’ve been so impressed by the engagement, creativity, and collaboration happening across all year levels. Walking through classrooms and seeing students so actively involved in their learning has been a real highlight — their enthusiasm is inspiring.
One of the major highlights was our School Fair, and what a wonderful community event it was. A big thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the day such a success. I’d also like to acknowledge our students, who did an outstanding job performing and running their stalls — your ideas, teamwork, and positivity really brought the fair to life. Thank you also to our School Council for their ongoing support, and to all the families who came along — your presence really helped make it a special day for our students.
As we come to the end of Term 3, we also say farewell to Mr Ariki. We are incredibly grateful for the contribution he has made to our school community. His dedication, energy, and care for students has made a lasting impact, and we wish him all the very best in his next chapter.
A reminder that the last day of Term 3 is today, Friday 19th September, with students returning for Term 4 on Tuesday 7th October. I hope you all enjoy a safe and restful holiday break. Take the time to relax and recharge — we look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 4.

Inside the 4Z classroom buzz
How is it the end of Term 3 already??
From Year 4 Camp at Ross River, to Book Week, to the Bradshaw School Fair, what a busy but exciting term it has been for 4Z!
In Literacy this term, we have studied the text ‘The Wild Robot’ by Peter Brown, exploring types of materials and their properties and what would best suit a robot in the wild. We have had immense fun persuading our classmates that our material is the best and even made a robot to showcase our vision.
In Mathematics, we have explored multiple topics, including money and calculating change, the relationship between division and multiplication, and quick ways to solve tricky subtraction problems. Our knowledge of number and place value is growing substantially, and we cannot wait to continue to grow our brains! Bring on Term 4!

The "Art" of Being Awesome
WOW! What an amazing showcase of creativity at the Bradshaw School Art Show!
This event was the perfect celebration of imagination, artistic expression, and vibrant colour from our talented Bradshaw students. They poured their hearts into creating stunning pieces that truly shine—and we’re so proud to share their work with families and the wider school community.
Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, and Keith Haring, our young artists didn’t just follow in their footsteps—they brought their own bold, fresh twists that make each piece stand out. Honestly, I’d say they give these masters a run for their money! Every artwork is a unique reflection of each child’s creative spirit.

Miss Prices Preschool Picassos
This term our main focus has been on working towards the Art Show. Our art pieces were all inspired by famous artists. Our self portraits were inspired by Andy Warhol. We used digital technology to take selfies and then to turn those photos into line drawings. The children painted their picture four times and arranged them in a grid. Next, we learnt about Piet Mondrian and explored his paintings which use red, yellow and blue rectangles with black lines between them. Our art piece inspired by Piet Mondrian was a jar painted with red, yellow and blue rectangles and black tape lines between them. At the Art Show a LED tealight was put inside the jars to illuminate them. Our third art piece was a mobile inspired by Yayoi Kusama. She is sometimes called the ‘Princess of Polka Dots’. We created dots in a variety of ways on our mobile: stickers, spherical beads, paint, textas. CD’s, mirror balls and shiny ornaments were also included as the class had an interest in reflection of light. A flower was incorporated as Yayoi Kusama has a famous dotty flower sculpture. Our final art piece was a painting on canvas inspired by Wassily Kandinsky. This piece was chosen as a child in the class had been exploring painting concentric circles. The end result of six sets of concentric circles looked very similar to the painting that inspired it. The children were excited to take their amazing art home to share with their families.
