Term 3, Week 10 - 2024
Message from the Principal
Werte,
A big thanks to all those who came to Bradshaw’s 50th anniversary yesterday. It was great to see so many former and current students and teachers come together to celebrate a wonderful 50 years of Bradshaw Primary School.
Once again, thanks to Ms Mack for her work in coordinating this event and to all the staff who dedicated evenings and weekends to ensuring the celebration went off without a hitch.
It was fitting end to a great term. Plenty was achieved. Year 4 and 5 camp, the roll out of a new spelling program in years 4-6, bike building programs, dance programs, CrossFit and of course loads of top-quality teaching and learning.
Please enjoy the next two weeks and we look forward to seeing all the students back on Tuesday the 8th of October.
Tim O’Sullivan
Principal

It was amazing to see so many familiar faces and to share this special milestone with our wonderful community. We hope you enjoyed the festivities as much as we did! SCIENCE REPORT: Term 3
Our Science Program is divided into three overlapping segments: T – 2 (Schoolyard Exploration); 3-4 (Under Our Feet); 5-6 (Desert Biomes). On top of that, we have vignette projects targeting hands-on skills for use in horticulture & agriculture. I can report back that our kids have enjoyed the program and have also gained great, useful knowledge along their journeys in Science. The Science Room is more like a learning hub which operates every day before school and during recess and lunch. In that capacity, it doubles as an animal shelter. We have nurtured several noisy minor birds during Term 3 and hence kept them alive and well leading to their being returned to their natural habitat. Come and see our Giant Dinosaur Tummy Worm and our propagating nursery. Cheers Prof Howie.

Learning in 3M
We have had an extra busy term in 3M!
In our mentor text unit, we have been busy learning about the States, Territories, and landmarks around Australia. We have expanded our knowledge of the Traditional Owners of the land and the amazing natural locations around our country such as The Great Barrier Reef, The Daintree Rainforest, Ningaloo Reef, The Great Dividing Range, and The Bass Strait. We then used this new knowledge to create a setting for our very own narratives which we planned using the narrative hill structure, and are almost finished writing! Our narratives include complex sentences, compound sentences and even appositives to describe our characters and settings.
We have also been working super hard with our buddy class, Transition Twine, to prepare for Bradshaw’s 50th Birthday! We have joined together numerous times over the term to help our buddies create ‘bottle people’ to use in our stores and even got to sit and read a story with them during book week.
