Message from the Principal
Werte Bradshaw Community,
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who completed and submitted their parent surveys. This year, we received more responses than in the past three years, and we’re aiming to set a new record next year, surpassing the 2020 numbers. The survey is a valuable tool for us to gather community feedback and assess our progress. We appreciate everyone’s participation.
The past two weeks have been both busy and exciting at the school. Our teachers have been working diligently to create and organize engaging and educational activities. Some of the highlights included the SRC Father’s Day stall, Transition’s Father’s Day Breakfast, and visits from emergency services. A special thanks to our dedicated teachers and staff for their hard work and commitment.
This year marks Bradshaw Primary School's 50th anniversary—a significant milestone. Bradshaw has a rich history of delivering high-quality education, and it’s wonderful to see parents and grandparents of current students return to reminisce about their own time here. We’re eagerly anticipating Bradshaw’s 50th birthday celebration in week 10, where we’ll welcome current and former students, as well as past teachers and principals. The event will feature special performances and stalls created by each class.
Wishing everyone a restful break this weekend, and we look forward to welcoming you back next week.
Many Thanks,
Tim O'Sullivan
School Principal

Don’t miss the nostalgic journey through our museum, and be sure to catch the whole school performances.
To top it all off, there will be a free sausage sizzle, and 8CCC will be broadcasting live from the event. It’s shaping up to be a night full of joy, memories, and community spirit. We can't wait to see you there!

Learning in Transition Gill
Transition Gill students have been busy this term so far!
In mathematics, they've been Learning about teen numbers, mass, and the order of numbers.
In Literacy, they've learnt about the community and how places can be looked after.
In Design and technology, they've made bird feeders to attract our beautiful native birds to the school yard.
Book week has been an absolute highlight though. Can you tell we love reading??

Learning in 2 Spencer-Wright
2SW are having a very busy term! We have been learning about the different states and territories around Australia and some famous landmarks within each. Students have been constructing paragraphs to show case their knowledge and publishing these with a piece of artwork. In math we’ve enjoyed testing our knowledge of place value in the Guess My Number game.
We have loved having the opportunity to do CrossFit with Ash on Friday afternoons. All students have enjoyed the opportunity to work together as a team and put their bodies to the test!

Learn with me in 3/4Z - ampe akngerre 1
Students in 3/4Z have had an awesome Term 3 so far! In Literacy, we have read the Boy Who Biked the World, examining different cultures, religions, and landmarks that he adventured through. We have explored diverse languages, foods and places in Africa, and we are now studying the Americas! In Maths, students have been using their knowledge of money in a real-world application, earning Zabilowicz money to pay for items in the Zabilowicz shop. It has been awesome to see students Care, Share, and Shining to earn Zabilowicz money and apply their additive and subtractive thinking skills to this activity. We have also been extending our knowledge of place value, pretending to be bankers and customers in an activity called ‘Banker Banker’.
As an extra-curricular subject, 3/4Z have been tackling a LEGO competition, setting their minds on exploring the ocean and current problems that the ocean faces today. We have been on an excursion to Gillen Primary School to practice our coding and building skills and have been hard at work to build a model of one solution in our teams. We are excited to present this in Term 4 to other schools in Alice Springs.

Book Week Magic
What a magical week we’ve just had! Book Week was a dazzling success, filled with wonder, creativity, and an abundance of literary joy. It was a true celebration of the power of stories, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how everything turned out.
**A Parade of Imagination**
Our dress-up parade was the highlight of the week, with students transforming into their favorite characters from beloved books. From brave knights and enchanting fairies to clever detectives and adventurous explorers, it was a joy to see so many creative costumes. The effort and enthusiasm of our students were truly inspiring, and the parade was a vibrant display of imagination and spirit. The smiles on the kids’ faces were worth a thousand words!
**Outdoor Library Fun**
The weather was perfect for our outdoor library event. Set up under the shade of our beautiful trees, the space was transformed into a cozy and inviting reading nook. Children gathered with their favorite books, some read aloud, while others enjoyed the quiet magic of getting lost in a story. It was wonderful to see so many of our students engrossed in their reading, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
**Reading Extravaganza Highlights**
Our reading extravaganza was a hit, with engaging activities and special guest readings that captivated our young audience. From interactive storytelling sessions to book-themed crafts, the week was packed with activities that celebrated the joy of reading. The enthusiasm of our kids was palpable, and their love for books shone through in every event.
**Photo Memories**
To capture the essence of this wonderful week, we’ve put together a collection of photos showcasing the highlights. Check out the gallery to relive the excitement of the dress-up parade, the tranquility of our outdoor library, and the vibrant atmosphere of our reading extravaganza.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made Book Week so special. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and love for reading are what made this week truly magical. Here’s to many more weeks of celebrating stories and imagination!
A special thank you to Miss Amy, our librarian. Her contributions to our Book Week have been truly appreciated. We have been very lucky to have you making such a positive impact on our School.

IN P.E with Mrs Usher
In PE we have been working on Physical Literacy.
Not only are we learning and practicing physical skills, but we are also working on understanding ourselves and others in physical situations.
We have also been doing some cross-curricular learning by incorporating English and Maths in games and activities.
This week, T-2 have played games involving teamwork, physical activity using skills they've learnt throughout the year, and counting.
3-6 have worked in teams to create, write about, explain, and play games they've invented by modifying games they've played before.
We have seen some very creative thinking taking place across the years!

Incorrect footwear at School
We have noticed more and more students are coming to school in incorrect footwear (ie crocs) and are presenting to the first aid room with sprains and/or grazes. Please remind your children that crocs and thongs are not deemed appropriate footwear. Appropriate footwear such as runners, school shoes or sturdy, flat sandals are advised for school.
Please feel free to ask the front office team for a Parent Handbook with appropriate footwear.
