Message From Principal
Werte Bradshaw Families,
Here we are! Well done to everyone on a massive term 2. There were so many great events and activities on across the school. We had Mwere bike building programs, GUTS Dance workshops on a weekly basis with different year levels, CrossFit, so many performances for Eisteddfod, swimming in the early years and so much more. None of this happens without the massive efforts of our amazing teachers and support staff. It also requires a lot of effort and work from our front office staff, chasing down missing permission notes, cross checking roles and more. So, I want to give a huge shout out to all the staff at Bradshaw Primary School for all their efforts in ensuring that our students are provided with multiple opportunities to SHARE their talents and SHINE in arts and sports events.
Sadly, we are saying goodbye to Ms Vueti and Ms Myphy.
Ms. V has taught science and year 4 at Bradshaw since 2023. She has decided to move closer to her family. Thanks Ms V for all of your work and we hope that you make a visit sometime when you are next in Alice Springs. We are also saying goodbye to Ms. Myphy. Ms. Myphy has been working in the front office and as the Executive Assistant since 2023. She has decided to move closer to family in QLD. We look forward to having her pop in when she visits Alice Springs again.
Next term, Ms. Fahey will be on leave, having a well-earned rest travelling around Australia with her family. Ms. Fahey gets through a ton of work around the school. Ms Warner and Ms McDonald will be acting in Ms. Fahey’s position for 5 weeks each. I know that they will do a great job.
What really impresses me about Bradshaw Primary School, is that all these great events, activities and excursions can take place but yet the teaching and learning is always the top priority. The rigour our teachers plan with and the high expectations they have of all students is second to none. As I walk around the school, I see every class diligently working and extending themselves to learn more and do more. All this hard work means it is time for everyone, students and teachers to take a well-earned rest. I hope that whatever you do, whether going on holiday or staying close to home that you all have a restful time with family and friends.
We look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday the 16th of July.

Staff Professional Learning Day

On Monday the 15th of July, Bradshaw Staff will be attending a Processional Learning Day. Please note there will be no school on this day, with term 3 commencing for students on Tuesday 16th of July.
NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week provided a fantastic conclusion to the school term. Our students and staff have enjoyed spending the week learning and celebrating our Indigenous culture and history. Students have enjoyed buddy art projects, a vibrant fashion show and a special assembly. A big thanks to Miss Liddle for all her work in putting together a wonderful week.

Finke Desert Race Rider Visit
On Thursday the 6th of June, Bradshaw students were lucky enough to be visited by some of Alice Springs very own Finke Desert Race riders! There was much excitement as students received safety messages, asked questions of the riders and got to hear their bikes in action.

Interschool Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all Bradshaw Althetes who attended the Interschool Athletics Carnival this term. Students participated in multiple events including long jump, javelin, shot put, discus and running. All athletes are to be commended not only their amazing efforts on the track and field but for the teamwork and support they gave each other!

Alice Springs Major Visits Bradshaw
Our year 6's were lucky enough to have a visit from Alice Springs Major, Matt Paterson. They have been busy learning about local governance as part of their Civics and Citizenship unit this term. Students enjoyed hearing from Matt and having the opportunity to ask questions about his role as the Alice Springs Major.

Bikes Mwerre
We are so proud of all the students this term who has work hard to build a bike as part of the Bikes Mwerre programme! Bikes Mwerre have been coming to Bradshaw every week to facilitate a bike building program; students will build a bike from scratch and take their bike home to keep.
Our budding bike mechanics have learned all about how to replace chains, tyres, seats, handlebar grips and safely use tools! Some have even mastered wheelies!
We hope all these students have a fantastic time riding their bikes over the holidays and can't wait to see what our new bike building students create next term!

Learning Festival Days
While teachers were busy planning for next term, students had an action-packed two days. From a ranger talk to a hockey clinic to a visit from the town major and a specialist music clinic, there wasn't a dull moment! Students enjoyed the variety of learning opportunities.

Children's University
A note to all Bradshaw Children's University participants:
As the end of term 2 draws close and the three week break is upon us, I encourage you to support your children to either visit some of our fantastic learning destination over the holiday break, visit learning destinations in other states if you are travelling, collect learning hours from organisations you visit that are not registered Learning Destinations and to log into the learning portal and complete some online learning.
See attached holiday for the necessary links to the portal and the second page can be printed out and used to collect signatures when visiting places.
Remember to register on our Facebook page to be informed of all the learning opportunities available.
Kind Regards
