Term 1, Week 10 - 2024
Principal Update
Werte Bradshaw Primary School,
Well done to teachers, staff, students and families on what has been a fantastic first term for 2024.
Many of our students have participated in so many amazing opportunities, from dance programs, bike building and riding programs, CrossFit, netball, cricket, tennis, choir and visual arts. Providing these opportunities really enriches students' experiences at school and comes together with their regular classroom learning to increase student outcomes. It is here in their academic learning that we are seeing amazing progress; from our little students' incredible growth in Read, Write, Inc through to our small group reading support students showing incredible improvements and our older students learning about the suffragettes and the fight for women’s rights in Australia. Across the whole school students are involved in exciting, rigorous and important learning.
We wish everyone an enjoyable holiday and are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday the 16th of April.

Bradshaw Snapshot
Bike Program
Our students have had a Wheelie good time learning about bike mechanics. Bradshaw is really grateful to Mwerre Biking for providing this valuable program to our students.

Girls and Boys Group
Marles and Urreyes
On Wednesday morning, we had an end of term celebration morning tea. We had a chance to reflect on what we have achieved so far in our journey. It was so pleasing to hear their reflection stories and what they are looking forward to next term. Some of the key words were safe, comfortable, enjoyable, rewarding, happy, loved and welcoming to name a few. We enjoyed some delicious party food and just hung out together having a laugh or two.

Dance
Bradshaw and Sadadeen students recently had the opportunity to showcase their dance skills in an intensive collaboration. The boys worked together to build strong relationships and hone their dance techniques, under the guidance of mentors and professional dancers Cheeky and Casey.
The program was a resounding success, with the students putting together an incredible music video that is sure to impress. Keep an eye out for the finished product, as these talented dancers showcase their hard work and dedication in a creative and exciting way. We are incredibly proud of all the students involved and can't wait to share their amazing performance with the school community.

School Library
The start of 2024 has been incredibly busy in the Library.
The start of Lexile’s has seen many students sign up this year which incredibly exciting. Mrs Amy has been working hard on having 50 new Lexile books ready to go for borrowing, adding to the shelves full of adventures, laughs, magic, mystical and every theme in between.
Our Pre Schoolers have loved their weekly visits over to big school with a story and borrowing books to take home. Our Primary student have settled into the Library routine wonderfully. With some new things in the Library like GIANT beanbags to chill out and read in, some new games, crafts and colouring in for lunch time to escape the heat and the endless new books make it an exciting space to visit.
All the glorious rain we have had in Alice makes for beautiful green grass but not so dry carpet. Thankfully, no books were harmed over the week and all carpet is now dry.
Wishing every one a safe and Happy week break and I look forward to seeing so many smiling faces in Term 2.
Mrs Amy
