Term 4 - Week 5 2023
Principal Update
Werte Bradshaw Community,
I know it sounds like I am on repeat, but WOW!! This term has really flown by. I can’t believe how close we are to the end of another school year.
Staff and students have been hard at it this term in class with their learning. It is wonderful at this time of the year to look back at student progress and how much students have grown in their learning. Every teacher I have spoken with is able to name off the top of their head a number of students who have blown them out of the water with their learning this year. When students live up to the Bradshaw values of, We CARE, SHARE and SHINE they set themselves up for amazing results. Bradshaw students show they CARE for their learning by coming every day to school and trying their best. Bradshaw students SHARE their learning by answering questions and sharing their ideas in class. Bradshaw students SHINE when they talk about what they have learnt and are proud of how much effort they put into their learning.
The Halloween disco was a huge success. Thanks to the staff for putting on such an amazing event for our school community. The students went all out with some great costumes. It was fantastic to also hold two information sessions for parents in the library while students were at the disco. Thanks to those parents who attended. Your input and feedback on plans for next year were greatly appreciated.
This term we have had other amazing opportunities for students. The year 3 sleepover was a huge success. Thanks to Ms. Spencer-Wright, Ms. Liddle and Ms. McGregor for organizing and running such a fun evening for the students. Huge shout out the Ms. Nunez for an awesome effort in getting the Book Fair set up and running so smoothly. It was really pleasing to see so many students excited to get books. Knowing that so many students are seeking out books to read and take home is a real positive and speaks well to the positive culture the teachers have fostered around reading at the school.
Thursday saw our Year 6 Market Day. Such a great effort from our year 6 students and Ms. Lewis, Ms. Usher, Ms. M’Nijel, Ms Chica, Mr Ariki and Auntie Jules. The market day was the culmination of the unit of work that students had been doing on enterprise. There are so many future entrepreneurs and business people in Year 6.
We only have four more weeks of school. I know that even though we are getting closer to the end of the year the teachers are still intent on packing in as much learning as possible.
Kind regards.

ALICE BEAT
Courage - Something our kids have in spades! Many hours of Practice and hard work paid off for over 35 Bradshaw partcipants who performed in the Alice Beat on a Thursday night. Their passion for music shone through every note.
Many thanks to the NT Music School and Miss D for their dedication to providing this opportunity!

Ampe Akweke 6 - 1D

We have had an awesome start of the term in Ampe Akweke 6. We have been reading The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse and have been learning how to construct sentences with proper nouns and conjunctions. This unit has also tied in nicely with our geography and design & technology learning where students have done an amazing job of designing and constructing their own town and country houses using natural and constructed materials. In Maths, we have been busy collecting, displaying and analysing data about a range of topics including our birthdays, eye colours and skittles. We have also enjoyed hands-on, collaborative learning about place value.

Children's University Program

Check out our Graduates who participated in the Children's University Program with CDU.
These students were recognised for their efforts and hardwork in engaging in extra-curricular learning activities! Huge Congrataulations! A big thank you to Mrs Usher, Miss McGregor, Miss M'Nijel and Mr O'Sullivan for all your support and guidance along the way.

Halloween Disco
What an epic Halloween Disco we had this Term! So many well behaved and excited kids who dressed to impress with their creative, spooky costumes, so many families enjoying a BBQ on our wonderful lawns and two pretty awesome DJ's providing the beats to make you dance the night away!

Ampe Akngerre 1 - 4z
We have had a BLAST in Ampe Akngerre 1 for the first half of Term 4! The students were captivated by music at the beginning of term, learning all about dynamics and different instruments to create their own short piece of music. In literacy, we have begun reading Runt, a funny and uplifting novel that has the students eager to read more. In maths, we have been collecting data on who the best skipper in the class is, and we were finding angles inside and outside of our classroom.
Many of our class members also came to our Halloween Disco which was a spooky but very fun night! There were smiles and laughs all round! Another fun thing happening in 4Z is students have been earning their pen license, with over half of our class already achieving this for their exceptional handwriting and dedication to learning. Can’t wait to have an amazing rest of the school year!
Touch Football and Biking

Biking has been a huge success this term! Bradshaw students have also been involved in a 4 week Touch Football Program working on their skills and understanding of the game and it's rules. It has been so good to have Bradshaw School demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and commitment to being part of a team !

Primary Educator of the Year

Her generosity, passion and kindness are infectious. Ms Abel, you truly live up to the Bradshaw Values: Care, Share, Shine! Our students adore you!

Book Fair

The bookfair had the students in awe! From the picture books to the graphic novels, posters and fun stationery, the range of products was endless.
Packed with a multitude of genres including fantasy, classics, award-winners, humour, non-fiction and mystery. There was so much to capture the students imaginations and excite them about reading!
Thank you so much Ms Amy for your hard work and dedication to make it a magical and memorable time for the students!
