Term 3, week 3 2023
Principal Update
Werte Bradshaw Community,
What an amazing first three weeks we have had to start Term 3. Teachers and students are all fully engaged and back to learning with real purpose.
On Friday of week one, Bradshaw teachers attended professional learning on numeracy instruction. As expected, the staff were extremely positive about what they were learning and very keen to bring it back into the classroom. In week 2 we celebrated NAIDOC week. A real highlight was a video prepared with students discussing the importance of elders in their lives. It was wonderful to see students of all backgrounds understanding just how important the generations that went before them are in holding knowledge about their families and culture.
In week 2, Preschool to year 2 went to Araluen art centre to watch a performance of Possum Magic. Well done to the early childhood team on ferrying 190 students safely and in such a smooth way. I have heard many students talking about it, and it seems that I has been a real highlight for many students so far this year.
Year 4/5 Camp was held in this week. There was a real buzz in the air on Wednesday as students were arriving at school with their swags and blankets ready for a fun-filled few days of camping. I know that the teaches had set up students to be very successful with plenty of discussion about how they will show that they CARE, SHARE and SHINE while on camp. We can’t wait to hear more about their experiences on camp.
In week 4 the parent school survey will be opening. Please look out for a note coming home with children with details on how to access the survey. We are really keen to hear from as many families as possible. We have set ourselves the goal of having more responders than last year.
Have a fantastic long weekend and we look forward to seeing all the students return on Tuesday the 8th of August.
