Week 1, Term 3, 2023
Message from Principal
Werte Bradshaw Community,
My name is Tim O’Sullivan (Mr. O for the students), and I am so excited to join the Bradshaw community as Principal. I would like to thank all the students and staff. Everyone has been extremely welcoming and helpful. A special shout out to Ms Pia, Ms Mel, Ms Myphemial and Ms Amy who have been helping me find my way around and getting me settled in in the front office.
Can I also give a big thank you to the families who I have had a chance to meet and talk to over the last few days as they drop off or pick up their children. Thank you for being so warm and welcoming. It is clear that the Bradshaw values, I Care, I Share, and I Shine is acted out by teachers, students and families.
I have been living and working in Alice Springs for almost eight years and in Central Australia for close to 12 years. Before joining the Bradshaw team, I was the Assistant Principal at Gillen Primary School. I have two children who have both attended Bradshaw School since they were in preschool, and I have always been extremely happy and thankful to have my own children here at school.
Over the last few days I have been in to see most of the class rooms and the students and teachers at work. How impressive are the teachers and students at Bradshaw? Despite it being the first week back after a break, they are all straight back into it. Students have been busy studying grammar, working on fluency in reading and learning new words in literacy. I’ve seen students creating patterns while doing art and craft and students counting and making shapes when building with blocks. At recess and lunch, I’ve seen students CARING by including others in their games, SHARING by taking turns when playing with basketballs and soccer balls and SHINING by teaching others new dance and gymnastic moves in the yard.
Over the holidays, Mrs. Marzohl informed us that she would not be returning this term. All of her students have now found homes in new classes and families have been informed. Thanks to the students and teachers for making these movements as seamless easy as possible. This Friday we also say goodbye to Ms Amy, who works in the front office (and Kiss and Go). Ms Amy does so much around the school and to support the leadership team and she will be missed. We wish her the best of luck in her new job.
The rest of the term is looking very busy and exciting. Get ready for

- Year 4/5 Camp in Week 3.

Tim O’Sullivan
