Week 3, Term 2, 2023
Message from Principal
Werte families
I’m sure you’ve heard that next week on Friday we have the fabulous Bradshaw Sport’s Day. Teams are learning their chants and students are planning their costumes and getting ready for an exciting day. Please come along and join in the fun if you are able.
Our Mother’s Day Stall is being held at school next Thursday. Gifts for our special mums will be available for purchase for a minimal cost of $10.00 or less.
Teachers are in the process of assessing student progress and beginning to write reports, which will be sent home in Week 10. Student Learning Conferences will be held during Week 8. At these conferences the teacher, student and parent sit together and share the learning that has been done and set some learning goals for Semester 2. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students and we hope you are able to make a time to attend. Notes offering times available with your child’s teacher will be sent home in a couple of weeks.
A reminder that you are always welcome to come in to Bradshaw for a visit. Assembly on Friday morning of even weeks is a chance to join in with our Bradshaw family and before and after school are good times to catch up with teachers or leadership for a chat. If you have ideas or suggestions for improvement, or things you think we should know about, come and tell us.
Warm regards, Jennie Ward

2G had a lovely afternoon with our buddies working collaboratively to get our class wreaths made for the ANZAC Day Commemoration Assembly.

Year 4 Dorfman - ampe akngerre 2
Ampe Akngerre 2 have had a busy start to Term 2!
In maths, we are learning about money and our students have been earning ‘Dorfman Dollars’ to spend at the Dorfman Shop. We are also exploring location through different problem solving activities.
We have started our unit on the earth’s resources, using the fabulous text ‘Blueback’.
In SEL, the students have enjoyed challenging themselves in some team building activities.

Transition Keily - ampe akweke 2
It’s been a big start to Term 2 for our transition students! In Mathematics, the students have investigated length and measurement, via comparison and informal measurement units. Additionally, we continue to have a significant focus on developing their number sense. Two fundamental skills we have been focusing on are number recognition and sequencing to 20. During Literacy, we have been exploring the text “I’m Australian Too”, which led to great discussions about not only Australia’s, but our own school’s diversity. Students have also been allocated their Read Write Inc. groups, to allow for targeted instruction in developing sound and letter knowledge. During our history sessions, we have been looking at celebrations around the world, and the ways in which different cultures mark big occasions. On the sports field, students are getting extremely excited for our whole school Sports Day, and have been thoroughly enjoying practicing their house chants, led by the Year 6 students. We can’t wait to get out on the track!
