Back to School Term 1, 2022
How Bradshaw School is working to keep our community safe
The following arrangements are in place for the first four weeks of term, at which point we will re-evaluate to ensure that we can continue to keep our students, staff and families safe and learning.
COVID Safety Supervisor
We have appointed a COVID Safety Supervisor who is responsible for ensuring our COVID safety measures are in place. Our COVID Safety Supervisor is Jessica Fahey. Jessica is supported by a COVID School Management Team.
People who are unwell
Students, parents and staff that are unwell cannot come to school. They must stay home, and if they have COVID symptoms they must get tested in line with the health advice.
COVID positive cases
Please notify us if your child is COVID positive or you are COVID positive and have been on the school site. We will identify and notify any close contacts and then let our families know that there has been a positive case in our community. We will not release the identity of any positive cases.
Visitors to the school
We are seeking to reduce visitors to the school as much as possible. Please use our Kiss’n’Go arrangements to drop off and collect your child as soon as practical.
Visitors that need to come on site are expected to:
- Wear a mask
- Check-in using the Territory Check-In app
- Sanitise/clean your hands on arrival
- Maintain physical distance and avoid crowded areas
- Not enter your child’s classroom
- Not linger at the school
Transition drop off and pick up
Transition families, please meet your Transition teacher outside the classroom in the junior playground. This is where families will meet and greet at the beginning and end of the day. Teachers will then take the Transition students into their classrooms for their play based learning.
Please allow five minutes for goodbyes and collecting your child.
Masks
All visitors to the school are expected to wear masks.
Students from Year 3 and up are encouraged to wear masks, and students in younger years are welcome to wear masks. Staff will wear masks except when educating.
Distancing
We will wherever possible take advantage of opportunities to increase the distance between students, although acknowledge that keeping students 1.5m away from other people is hard to do in a school when students are learning and playing together.
We will be reducing cross-school activities so that your children mainly see and spend time with other students in their year level.
Excursions, events and assemblies
Excursions and events will be paused. Assemblies will be delivered in classrooms and families will not be able to attend.
Our ‘Meet the Teacher’ night will not go ahead. Teachers and families will stay connected via enewsletters, email, notes, phone and Facebook. If you need to organise a meeting with the school please contact the front office.
Cleaning and hygiene
We will be making sure that everyone is washing or sanitising their hands regularly during the day, and teaching our students about the importance of doing so.
We are also making sure that our school is cleaned and disinfected properly every day.
We ask that all students bring their own clearly labelled drink bottle and from Year 1 upwards, individual pencil cases stocked with lead pencils, coloured pencils, a rubber, scissors, and glue stick is preferable.
Vaccination
All staff are vaccinated. We encourage students to get vaccinated who are eligible to do so.
Ventilation
Our air conditioning has been reconfigured to maximise the proportion of fresh air and minimise the recirculation of air. Supporting this we will take advantage of opening doors and windows to increase air flow and learning outdoors where possible.
Communication
We commit to keeping you informed about any developments or changes to these arrangements.
Please phone the Front office if you have any questions.
