Week 3, Term 4, 2021
Update from Leadership
As we near the end of the 2021 school year, we have begun to make preparations for next year. We are looking at the class structure and in a few weeks will begin looking at classes. If you are not returning to Bradshaw in 2022 please contact the front office to let us know. If you would like to discuss your child’s needs please contact the front office to make a time to speak to Ms Turk.
Transitioning activities have started for our youngest students, with the preschoolers making weekly visits to the Transition classes. These important sessions help the students prepare for their start at big school next year. The Year 6 Transition program is continuing and will help ease students into their next stage of school.
Our school swimming program will be starting in a few weeks – Transition/Year 1 students will attend daily lessons in Week 5 (8-12 November) and Year 2/3 students in Week 6 (15-19 November). Notes have gone home to the students from Transition to Year 3. Please return these as soon as possible as this is an important part of your child’s education program. If you have any questions about the program please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs Fahey.
In 2022 the Department of Education’s Northern Territory Music School (NTMS) will continue to offer an instrumental program for students from Years 3 to 6 at Bradshaw. Teachers from NTMS recently spoke to students at school about the program. If you would like to find out more about their programs or to enrol your child in the program go to https://www.ntms.net.au/alice-springs . Contact the NTMS on 8963 5550 or by email at nt.musicschool@education.nt.gov.au if you have any queries.
Teachers will soon be finalizing assessment and writing student reports. These will be sent home with your child on Wednesday 15th December.
And finally, just a reminder that all students should wear a bucket style hat at school. It has become very hot recently and so is even more important for everyone to be wearing a hat to protect them from the sun. We have bucket hats available for sale at the front office for $10.

This week we have also been working on strategies to gain the understanding we need to be able to solve the division problems. The students have all been successful with this topic and are now independently completing all learning tasks. Well Done EVERYONE in 2L!!
