Week 10, Term 3, 2021
Leadership Update
“Thank you for all the time, effort and love invested in preparing our students for the wonderful trip around the world and beyond. Our family enjoyed the concert and loved the art exhibition. And we loved the staff dance. Well done to you all.”
These were the kind words of one of our families attending the school concert. It is so lovely to receive this appreciation and to share it with our staff, students and the community. Term 3 has ended on a high with the success of the Art Show, School Concert and also Alice Can Dance. Bradshaw loves to perform and our next event to look forward to is Alice Beat in November when students will dance, sing and share their musical talents.
We had over a 1000 people in the audience. Thank you to our school community for your support. Do you have any ideas to improve the concert? Your feedback is sought and can be provided through Bradshaw Facebook Messenger.
On Wednesday Bradshaw students joined students from all the other public schools for Alice Can Dance. It was a festival of colour with 28 Bradshaw Year 3-6 students performing. The show is a culmination of the 10 week dance program at school lead by Guts Dance.
Following the concert, students have been reflecting on the highlights through viewing and writing about the night. Recounting the concert is a purposeful motivation for writing and lots of students are proudly sharing their work with me.
The Dolly’s Dream, Parenting in the Digital Age workshop was held at school on Thursday night. Parents attending the session came away with an understanding of esafety together with tips and ideas on how to support and educate their child in the online and offline world. Another session will be planned for Term 4 and I encourage families to attend this informative workshop.
The next two weeks is a time for relaxation so that students come back well rested, ready for learning. There is lots to look forward to with the Year 3 Sleepover, Reporting, Swimming, PAT Testing and our Preschool and Year 6 Graduations.
On Friday 22 October we have a Staff Development Day focusing on how we teach maths. Students are not required to attend on this day.
Have a wonderful break and see you at school on Monday 11 October!

Congratulations to the Bradshaw Staff and Students on a truly amazing school concert.
The creativity, dedication and teamwork of everyone resulted in a successful and most entertaining night.

Art Show
This year Bradshaw had their annual art show with the school concert. It was a great opportunity to join creative arts and performing art together, all families loved seeing their students work on display. Thank you to everyone that came out.

Alice Can Dance
28 of Bradshaw's best dancers took to Araluen stage on Wednesday night for an amazing Alice Can Dance performance. It was tough to back-up from the concert, but once again Bradshaw managed beautifully. Our students performed 2 shows and were hands down the crowd favourite.
Goooooooo Bradshaw!!!

Transition Stubbings
The Transition students have enjoyed lots of sensory play in their joint discovery learning times. This was when we made 'oobleck' together. We enjoyed exploring the science behind the change in consistency and how it felt. So much learning and fun!

Update on Priority Enrolment Area
Bradshaw continues to grow and to manage the capacity of the school into the future, the Priority Enrolment Area Management Plan has been reviewed and endorsed by School Council. Only those families who live in the Priority Enrolment Area (PEA) or are “Bradshaw Family” (that is they have a sibling enrolled and attending Bradshaw) are able to attend Bradshaw Preschool or Bradshaw Primary School. The change is the inclusion of the Preschool in the PEA Management Plan. The review has been necessary due to the increasing numbers of Preschool students (including those residing out of the PEA) attending Bradshaw Primary School and the need to manage the school capacity. This change does not affect any student currently enrolled at Bradshaw Primary School. It does mean that positions at Preschool for 2022 will only be offered to those in the PEA or “Bradshaw Family”. Letters of acceptance into Preschool are currently being sent to eligible students. Please contact the Principal, Michele Turk should you have any questions.
Malayalee Community Celebration
Saturday 11th Sept was a significant celebration for the Malayalee Community in Alice Springs with traditional dancing, singing and eating to celebrate Onam and the prosperity and happiness of the people. There are a number of Bradshaw students who are part of the Malayalee Community and performed in traditional dress at the celebration. Part of the celebration was acknowledging and appreciating the support to the AMA. Bradshaw is proudly displaying this shield at the office. It says….
“Our sincere thanks to Bradshaw Primary School for your ongoing support and assistance to Alice Springs Malayalee community. Your willingness to help out wherever there is a need is greatly appreciated. It is that kind of flexibility and dedication that will help our community to grow to its full potential. Thank You from AMA”
