Week 4, Term 3, 2021
Updated from Leadership
How rude that we have had a full 5 days of school this week after our lovely picnic long weekend! Firstly a big thank you to all our families for their support with the opening of the new yeperenye design down the concourse. We had such a lovely day with many special visitors. The student’s behavior was exemplary! How lucky we are to walk down that concourse each day (for some staff, many, many times a day) and look at the beautiful design.
This week I thought I would take an opportunity to list many of the intervention and support groups we are currently running at Bradshaw. We are very grateful to all the staff for always going above and beyond to give our students these opportunities.
Currently we have Read, Write Inc running across all grades, Levelled Literacy Intervention, Oral language groups, 3D printing, Alice Can Dance, Choir, small groups which are run through the Positive Learning Centre to teach school behaviors, Riding for the disabled, senior craft groups, cooking, crossfit classes, speech programs, gardening, nutrition program, Pertame language group, volunteering at the Salvation Army, Bluearth, Rock and Water, Alert sessions in our new engine room, Polly Farmer and soon we will be starting Active Afterschool one afternoon a week. WOW. No wonder staff and students feel so tired on a Friday. We just don’t stop.
If you believe your child would benefit from being part of one of these programs and isn’t already in it, please contact the school.
Thank you also to Mr Williams and his science enthusiasts for an engaging and informative Science week this week. “What do you call an apple that plays the trumpet? “Tooty fruity”.
Thank you for another wonderful week, please look out for more information coming soon regarding our school concert on September 21st at the Marion Centre OLSH.
Thanks
Alex Morton

Whats been happening in 4P?
In the first couple of weeks of term, 4P have been looking at different ways of telling the time. We challenged ourselves to build Sundials as one way to tell time.
During NAIDOC week we discussed the story of the Yipirinya and the students did a great job in creating their own caterpillars!
We look forward to the rest of the term including camp in Week 5!

Frontier Lunches
We are noticing an increase in the number of students coming to the office who either have no food or not enough food for the day. Please ensure your child has a substantial, nutritious recess and lunch packed to last them the day. All classes across the school take part in “Crunch and Sip” at 9.30am. This is a small FRUIT snack and drink of water to keep students going until after recess play. It is really important that every child brings a healthy option for Crunch and Sip, every day! If your child presents to the front office, a phone call home will be made to ask families to bring in extra food.
Do you know about the wonderful service provided by ARRCS? For just $17.34 per week per child (that’s less than $3.50 per day), your child will be provided with a nutritious snack for recess and a meal for lunch, delivered to the school, daily. All it takes is the completion of one, simple, form and it can all be taken care of for you. The payments can be made directly via Centrelink, through Centrepay or Income Management.
Please contact the office on 8955 2100 for more information.
