Week 9, Term 4 2020
Update from Leadership
Dear Bradshaw Families,
Can you believe we are edging the end of the 2020 school year? I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of your child’s education and for being part of the Bradshaw Community. Given the additional challenges this year, it is incredible to look back and reflect on just how far everyone has travelled over the course of the year. Students have achieved their learning goals in many different areas and they have grown and developed their social and emotional skills. Our Bradshaw Learners have challenged themselves, been responsible and learnt together, and this has resulted in positive results for everyone. Again thank you for playing such an important role in the progress of your child/children.
As always there are some staff changes for 2021. We wish those that are leaving all the very best in the next chapter of their exciting life journey. Staff leaving us include:

A massive thank you to Melissa Rundle and all of the preschool team for the incredible Preschool Graduation on Wednesday evening. The parental support was amazing and the confidence of our littlest Bradshaw Learners performing on stage was fabulous. We look forward to having them all join us at Big School next year.
Another massive thank you to our Year 6 teachers - Rupert Croutz, Janette Cook and Gail Rankin as well Aunty Jules, Uncle Tiny, Ken, Mrs Fahey (as well as many others) in support roles, for the work that went into the Year 6 Graduation last night. SO much work goes into these events and there is a lot of help behind the scenes to make it happen, even more so this year facing the challenges of COVID regulations. Mostly - thank you to our Year 6 families for your support across the years that your children have been at Bradshaw. I am confident that Bradshaw has prepared them well for whatever will head their way next! For those families that are leaving us from our Year 6 cohort or across the school, we wish you all the very best for the future and thank you for being integral to the success of our Bradshaw community.
Thanks to our Leadership team for their support of our staff students and families. Thanks to all teaching staff and support staff, without whom our kids could not achieve what they have. Finally, thanks to our families. Without you, our Bradshaw community would not be what it is today. A vibrant, positive and inclusive culture of learning where….”We all belong to a diverse community of inspired learners, growing together.”
Our School Council has its final meeting next week where we will conclude our work for this year and look to the school improvement and budget for 2021. Early next year the school community will be invited to contribute their opinion on our actions around school improvement. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Student semester reports will be sent home with students on Wednesday 16th December. Students also find out who their teacher will be in 2021 on this day. Following this, classes will engage in their end of year class parties. If you are not returning to Bradshaw in 2021 and haven’t let us know, please contact the front office ASAP.
Officially, Thursday 17th Dec is the last day of school for 2020. Most classes will be cleaning up, packing up and moving furniture and resources to new rooms. Any assistance on this day is greatly appreciated. If students find this level of cleaning and independent responsibility challenging please feel free to make alternative arrangements.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone within the Bradshaw community for your support this year. It certainly has been a wild ride and without the incredible generosity of those within our community it would be a very challenging role. My door is always open and I am always keen for feedback that can help us grow our practice and improve the successful operations of the school. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you ever wish to discuss anything.
The school will have staff present in the week before Christmas and after the New Year. All enquiries can be directed to the school number during this time. We will open for uniform sales on 25th, 27th and 28th of January. You will find more details in this newsletter, keep a look out on the Facebook page for updates.
Have a wonderful, safe and relaxing Christmas and a very Happy New Year and I look forward to our continued partnerships in 2021.
Regards
Michele Turk
Acting Principal
