Term 2, Week 10 2025
Letter from the Principal
Werte Bradshaw Primary School Families,
We’ve had a great end to the semester with some fun new activities for the students and lots of smiling faces across the school!
This week, we also celebrated NAIDOC Week, recognising and honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through storytelling, art, music, and connection.
A big shout out to Miss Liddle, who thoughtfully organised the ceremonies and cultural celebrations throughout the week. Thank you for welcoming staff to your house on your beautiful country block, where we were fortunate to share in the experience of kangaroo tail cooked traditionally and to listen to the stories shared by your father, Joe, about the Caterpillar Mountains. It was a truly special and memorable experience for us all.
Wishing all our families a safe and relaxing three-week holiday break.
Looking ahead to Term 3 — we have lots to look forward to, including our School Fair, Camps for Year 4 and 5 students, and plenty of exciting learning opportunities. Please keep an eye out for notes home if your child is involved in extra-curricular activities or special events.
Thank you for your continued support. We’re proud of all our students and everything they’ve achieved so far this year.
Enjoy the break — we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for Term 3!

NAIDOC Week with Miss Liddle
Werte Bradshaw!!
Wow , what a week we’ve had. I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the way Bradshaw has embraced NAIDOC Week. It’s been truly heartwarming to see everyone come together to honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. From the dancing and singing to the painting and cooking, the week has been filled with joy, creativity, and deep respect for culture. These shared experiences have not only been educational but also incredibly meaningful for our whole community.
Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported the celebrations. I hope you’ve all enjoyed the week and taken something special from it.
Kele!

Activities with Lily at the Hub
The hub has been busy as usual this Term with students coming through from morning until afternoon. With our team running intervention groups across the week and supporting with brekky, recess, lunch and everything in-between there is always a buzz in the hub!
Our intervention groups support students across relationship building, emotional regulation, sensory and motor skills, social skills and academic focused. Here are some snippets of activities our hub groups have been up to this term!

Pre Price - Growing Plants
This term Pre Price has been growing broad bean plants from seed. We were inspired to grow plants after visiting the Westside Community Garden and exploring their vegetable gardens and fruit trees.
We began by putting broad been seeds in ziplock bags with a paper towel and some water. The ziplock bags were then put on the window so they could get sunlight. Over the next few weeks, the seeds germinated and began growing roots, a stem and leaves.
Next, we potted the seedlings into pots and put them out in the garden. We have kept watering the bean plants and they have continued to grow. Some of these broad bean plants will be planted into a garden bed to keep growing. Hopefully the plants will get big enough to grow broad beans.

1 Minesso
TERM 2 is over! It has been a busy and exciting term for the students in 1M! After some energetic weeks of swimming, the Year One students enjoyed exploring the concept of present and past through our mentor text. To bring this learning to life, we went on a wonderful excursion to the Old Timers, where we discovered how people lived many years ago and compared it to how we live now. This hands-on experience helped the children understand the differences between past and present in a fun way.
In Maths, we have been focusing on measuring time and length using nonstandard units, such as paper clips and blocks. This approach made learning measurement more interactive and helped the children grasp these concepts in an enjoyable way.
Recently, the class has been working hard on writing narratives, where they have practiced creating interesting stories with clear beginnings, middles, and endings. Alongside this, we explored the importance of instructions and how they help us complete tasks step-by-step. To make this learning extra tasty, we had a jam sandwich-making activity! The children wrote their own sets of instructions for making a jam sandwich!
There has been so much learning happening this term, and the children in 1M have shown incredible effort and enthusiasm. We’re so proud of how much they’ve achieved!
