Term 1, Week 10 2025
Message from the Principal
Werte Bradshaw Community,
What a positive term it has been. We welcomed lots of new students and teachers into the school and everyone has settled in really well.
One of the real positives is the way students switched on their learning from day one. It has been an extremely productive term.
We are really excited about next term. We have lots of exciting things happening across the school such as swimming and camp amongst others. Please look out for notes and information coming out regarding events and activities.
A reminder that students return to school on Tuesday the 15th of April.
Please enjoy the holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone next term.
PE Usher - Skills & Team Spirit
This term in PE, we have been focusing on following instructions and controlling our bodies in a variety of movement situations, all while respecting ourselves, others, and the space we are in.
Students in Years 3-6 were fortunate to have the opportunity to practice these important skills with Coach Liz from Basketball NT.
All students from Transition to Year 6 have also been practicing for Sports Day and earning early points for their houses.
Transition to Year 2 students have been participating in running races, completing obstacle courses, and practicing balance activities. They’ve also competed in fun novelty races like the egg and spoon race and sack races.
Students in Years 3-6 have been working on their Discus and Javelin skills, which have shown significant improvement over the course of our sessions. One of the most exciting parts of these activities was seeing students support and help each other master the basics of these field events.
Year 6 students also participated in Interschool Cricket earlier in the term.
Year 5 students worked with Miss Brylee and Anthony from Year 6 to learn how to play touch rugby. Unfortunately, their interschool carnival was cancelled due to rain, but they were able to showcase their skills in the Year 6 Students vs. Everyone Else match this week. The Year 6 team won, and Thomas from Year 3 was a standout player!
Looking ahead to Term 2, students in Years 3-6 will continue developing their field event skills with Shot Put and Long Jump.

Pip - Lines in Art
In art we have been learning about lines and how they organise the world around us. Lines are used in art to enhance a piece of work and to create impact for the viewing audience. Students have been exploring various styles, directionality and size in which lines can be displayed. They have applied this knowledge to an art piece where they had to create their own style of jumper to welcome in this cooler weather! Hello Autumn … Finally!

5M - Exploring Natural Disasters
This term, 5M has been busy with exciting learning experiences!
We’ve been exploring natural disasters and their impact on the environment, focusing on the Black Saturday bushfires and Cyclone Tracy. A highlight was a visit from the bushfire team, who shared insights about their important work. Students even got to tour a fire truck and try out some of the equipment!
We also tapped into our creative side with Guts Dance workshops. Students had a fantastic time moving, learning new dance skills, and expressing themselves through movement.
It’s been a great term of learning and discovery!
